Theocracy
This is a good time to remind everyone to read The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood. It's an excellent parable about what happens when fundamentalists take control.
Are you seriously recommending people take political cues from a mediocre science fiction book? Do you think all Socialists are based on IngSoc from 1984? Do you think Dune describes how to run a resistance to evil voverlords?
It's not a science fiction book, but a parable about totalitarianism. I'm not suggesting that anyone take political cues, but I am saying that literature is important. Anything that makes people think is a positive thing.
"Anything that makes people think is a positive thing." Mein Kampf? The Protocols of the Elders of Zion? Thinking about trash is not ennobling; reading the puerile rantings of Atwood is also not ennobling.
